Photo Gallery: Riot Fest 2018 – Day One

| September 18, 2018

The 2018 version of Riot Fest, in the tradition that is life in Chicago, hit a few speed bumps on its way to Douglas Park. The rollout leading up to Day One was a bit dramatic. Headliners Blink-182 had to cancel for health reasons at the eleventh hour and their understudies,  Weezer were announced only 10 days before opening day. Daily schedules were also delayed because of the Blink cancelation and rumored visa issues with another headliner.

In the end, Riot Mike and his staff they got it right where it mattered most: The music. That, and July weather in September made an appearance for all three days.

The multitudes that attended this past weekend were rewarded with stellar performances from Speedy Ortiz, Blood People, Liz Phair, The Fever 333, Lagwagon, Typesetter, Pussy Riot, The Aquabats, K. Flay, Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers, Sum 41, The Bombpops, Matt & Kim, Bleachers, Young The Giant, Cypress Hill and the evening’s headliner Weezer…(Exhale)…and that was just the first day.
