Pavement has evolved from a small indie band to cult heroes. But thanks to the power of songs like “Cut Your Hair,” “Gold Soundz,” and “Stereo,” they are now one of the most seminal bands in indie rock. Canada’s greatest export, RUSH, is back on tour, marking not only their first outing in 11 years, but it’s also their first without drummer Neil Peart, following his death in 2020. The band will treat fans to a career-spanning setlist that’s sure to include hits like “Tom Sawyer,” “The Spirit of Radio,” and “YYZ” when they cap off their four-night stint at United Center on Wednesday, July 22nd. Jack White is a guitar wizard. Whether he’s revamping classic blues riffs or shredding so hard it sounds as if his guitar will explode, he keeps listeners in awe with his prowess. He keeps the spirit of rock alive by absolutely dominating the instrument. With another hot album under his belt, the rocker is ready to bring his latest music to the stage. Jack White will play two shows this weekend: at Radius on Thursday, July 23rd and a sold-out show at Salt Shed on Friday, July 24th. Luckily, tickets for Radius are still available.
No summer in Hobart, Indiana, is complete without Hobart Art Theatre treating its patrons to its outdoor Lakefront Series in its backyard, featuring live concerts on beautiful Lake George. This year they’re bringing in Chicago alt rockers Local H (July 25) and Kentucky hard rockers Black Stone Cherry (July 26). Kicking things off on Friday, July 24 are acclaimed Cleveland rappers Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. One of the pioneers of the California metal movement on the Sunset Strip in the 1980s, L.A. Guns, arrives at Arcada Theatre this Saturday, July 25. Touring in support of their 30th anniversary and new album, ‘LIVE FROM THE GUILD THEATRE’, despite line-up changes, they’re still going strong, powered by their storied co-founder Tracii Guns. Expect to hear classic tracks (“Ballad of Jayne” and “Sex Action”) plus some of their best (“Taste It”) from the new album. Fellow metal pioneers Saigon Kick open.
