Tinley Park hosted their annual Time Machine festival this past weekend, titled “The Summer Of ’99 And Beyond…”. The festival took place at the outdoor venue in the southwest suburbs and featured a diverse lineup of bands that leaned heavily into Metal and second wave Alt-Rock.
The festival spanned over two days and featured 17 bands on two stages. The main amphitheater showcased headliners Limp Bizkit and Creed, both of whom were considered pariahs in the scene during their peak popularity due to their lack of “indie credibility”. However, judging by the crowds they drew, history has forgiven them. Other headliners on the main stage included Cypress Hill, Bush, Mammoth, Candlebox, Sevendust, Kittie, Puddle of Mudd, and Hoobastank.
The smaller Second Stage featured early arrivals who could catch sets from Magnolia Park, The Pretty Wild, Slay Squad, Ashes of Billy, Big Wreck, The Verve Pipe, and Sleep Theory. The lineup on the Second Stage was a diverse mix of bands from the ‘90s and early 2000s.
