Cigars and Stripes BBQ on Route 66 Ogden Avenue in Berwyn
Berwyn’s Route 66 car show is one of the larger local and national vehicles shows held annually so it definitely makes it worth the visit. It’s a huge one-day automotive festival held along historic Ogden Avenue (Route 66) between Oak Park Ave. and Ridgeland Ave. With 30,000 spectators expected and hundreds of classic and exotic cars, it’s gained a great reputation and is known for being one of Route 66’s largest events. One of our favorite spots on Route 66 is BBQ joint Cigars and Stripes. Besides their incredible BBQ and acclaimed meatball sandwich, they bring their favorite “house band” the Ooozin’ Ahhs in for special events like their motorcycle shows, car shows and Halloween events. The band bills themselves as “”monster mash” rocking Halloween band that plays unearthly, theatrical garage rock, retro horror tunes, and spooky covers.” Expect their amazing food and music to make it a memorable day on Saturday, August 29.
