Muddy Waters tribute and jam arrives at Taste of Westmont Sunday, July 12.

Over 20 years ago, we were swept away by Evanescence thanks to “Bring Me to Life.” Amy Lee’s soaring vocals paired with heavy guitars were unlike anything at the time. Lee and the rest of the band continue to captivate audiences around the world. The band brings its world tour with Spiritbox and Nova Twins to Tinley Park’s Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre this Wednesday, July 8th. You can still get tickets here.

At 85 years old, Bob Dylan is still out on the road playing to audiences around the world. The living legend has teamed up with Lucinda Williams for a night of unforgettable music. Dylan will perform his latest and greatest when he brings the tour to Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island on Wednesday, July 8th. Get tickets while you still can.

The best way to describe Muse live is out of this world. The UK rockers treat fans to a larger-than-life show that often includes stunning visuals, robots, innovative stage design, and lots of pyro. They bring “The Wow! Signal Tour” to Tinley Park’s Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre this Friday, July 10th. Special guests are Bloc Party and The Temper Trap. Tickets available here.

Billy Idol celebrates 50 years of punk rock, lip snarls, and fist pumps on his latest tour. The “It’s A Nice Day to…Tour Again!” sees the vital idol supporting his latest album, Dream Into It. He’ll also treat fans to classics like “Rebel Yell,” “Mony Mony,” “White Wedding,” “Eyes Without a Face,” and more. The tour stops by Ravina this Sunday, July 12th. Tickets are running out, so get them while you still can.

West suburban Taste of Westmont is a classic suburban music festival (July 9 through July 12), but what pushes it over the top is the west suburban town’s connection to blues legend Muddy Waters. Muddy lived in Westmont during his twilight years, and the festival dedicates an All-Star Tribute to him on Sundays, as well as a Muddy Open Blues Jam. Top Tribute act Dancing Queen (ABBA) and Hall of Fame Grand Funk guitarist Mark Farmer hit the stage on Friday and Saturday. Country great Alli Walker and emerging female dynamos Emma and the Dilemma and Hannah Blue round out an entertaining festival lineup. For the full schedule, visit here (-David Gedge)
