Stage Buzz: Bear Hands, Cursive, Destroy Boys, Damaged Justice,
Indie rockers Bear Hands surprised fans with the release of their first new single in five years, followed by their new album, The Key to What. Now, with a new record under their belt and re-signing with the newly reformed Contora Records, the band is ready to embark on the next chapter of their career. Catch Bear Hands with Worry Club and Yada Yada at Outset this Wednesday, November 6th. Doors open at 6 PM. Grab tickets here.
Sacramento’s Destroy Boys embody the core of punk rock: speaking your mind, playing loud, and not giving a damn what anyone else thinks. The band remains brash and bold as they touch on everything from gender identity and feminism to heartbreak. Watch them tear up the stage at Concord Music Hall with Sasami and Chokeberry on Wednesday, November 6th. Doors open at 5:30 PM. Tickets available here.
Cursive may have emerged from the same scene that gave birth to Bright Eyes and The Faint, but their harsh sound and penchant for concept albums made them stand out. Best known for The Ugly Organ and Domestica, the band returned this year with their eighth album, Devourer. Hear tracks from their latest album along with classics at their Empty Bottle show on Saturday, November 9th. Doors open at 8 PM. You can still get tickets here.
Local Metallica tribute Damaged Justice is unique because they’re Chicago’s longest-running local tribute (led by founder Robert Masliansky) to the “founders” of the big four, but they have a secret weapon: a badass female Vocalist Kristy Tallica that makes their gigs a joyous night in recognition of the music of Metallica. They arrive at JJ Kelley’s with Hellbilly Deluxe in Lansing this Saturday November 9.
