Photo Gallery: Local H at “Live From The Lot” at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium
Like almost every other industry, the COVID pandemic has forced the music profession to find its way around how to put the music out there, specifically live music. The recent trend has used the old model of Drive-In theaters as a stand-in for concert venues. Zion’s Local H recently used this approach to great success in east-central Illinois. This past weekend, they replicated their earlier success with two shows in the parking lot of the Schaumburg Boomers baseball club at Duff Entertainment’s “Live from the Lot.”
Attendees essentially took the tailgating portion of the pre-show parking lot experience of stadium shows and combined it with the actual performance. Masks and social distancing were required, and compliance certainly seemed to be honored. If this is the new normal, for now, it ain’t so bad. Also, new concert goer tip: Instead of the lighter or cell-phone-flashlight-encore-request, the new trend is simply trigger your car alarm. Don’t have one? Hop back in your vehicle and lay on the horn.
