Photo Gallery: Pitchfork Music Festival 2019: Day Two

| July 22, 2019

Day Two of the Pitchfork Music Festival picked up where the previous evening left off with oppressively hot temperatures.  Not to worry, the evacuation quickly changed everything. Downpours and lightning briefly derailed the proceedings, resulting in Union Park being emptied for nearly two hours (sets by Kurt Vile, Amber Mark and an abbreviated run for Stereolab were unfortunate casualties).

But before and after the weather related drama, there was music. The Isley Brothers, celebrating 60 years together, were the evening’s star attraction. The day was also filled out with performances from Belle & Sebastian, Freddie Gibbs, Parquet Courts (who also had their power cord pulled prematurely), Jay Som, Cate Le Bon, Tirzah, CHAI, Ric Wilson and Lala Lala. Oh, and complements of Ma Nature’s precipitation deluge…the temps plunged to a very comfortable 70-something degrees.
