BANKS celebrated the release of her third record, the aptly named III, by presenting it to those who matter most – her fans. Born Jillian Rose Banks, the California native extends her winning streak on her latest recording, pushing her brand of left-of-center R&B even further into the sonic sphere.
Chicago’s House Of Vans served as host for a record release performance, in advance of a larger venue (the Uptown neighborhood’s Riviera Theater) appearance later this year. Replete with her own backup dancers and a gothic, wispy vibe, those in attendance were afforded a sneak peek at a major talent that continues to emerge.
Early arrivals were also treated to free t-shirts, a DJ set from Anna Lunoe and a soulful schooling courtesy of Samoht.
