Photo Gallery – Jenny Lewis at The Vic
If a rainbow could sing, there’s a good chance it would sound a lot like Jenny Lewis. Her May 18th show at Chicago’s Vic Theater was so thick with good vibes, few would have been surprised if she’d cantered onto the stage riding a Unicorn. Touring behind 2014’s The Voyager, her third solo record since the demise of her former band Rilo Kiley, Lewis’ current trek feels like a victory lap of sorts. After playing almost every major music festival this country has to offer, this brief tour is once again allowing her to get (physically) closer to her audience. A cartoonishly vivid stage simply could not be upstaged by her stunning stage presence and a voice that seemed to have dropped from the clouds. IE photographer Curt Baran parked his Jack-a-lope on Belmont Avenue and stepped inside the venue to bear witness. Here’s how things looked.
