People unfamiliar might wonder why she topped the iTunes World Music chart when her latest album came out. “I thought she was from Illinois . . . “
Yes and no. Actually, If The Rains Come First (Obliqsound) recalls Sade or some heavily organic trip-hop more than anything indigenous to her native Rwanda/Uganda, or the place she split time between here while growing up: Zambia.
