Death From Above 1979 remix offshoot MSTRKRFT rent some electro space on their one-note debut.
DFA’79’s Jesse Wheeler might be able to weave The Spinners’ “I’ll Be Around” as the core vocal hook for “Easy Love,” but it’s the only pop embellishment on the whole of The Looks. Otherwise he concentrates on straightforward, nouveau ’80s disco and retro synth repetition (“Street Justice”), robot R&B (“Bodywork”), and barrages of analog handclaps (“She’s Good For Business”).
