No longer practicing Karate, Geoff Farina takes time away from his bazillion other obligations for this lonesome EP.
While the title track begins as a jazzy sort of “Stairway To Heaven” with empty-room reverb, it comes clear by the end of “Kin Of Carbons” Farina’s intent is to bury the curious under mountains of seventh chords. It’s a studly sidetrack in a “look how I can throw you” manner, though his effervescent wit — “Already Told You” jousts with failing words — could be more well read with stronger melodies.
