Stage Buzz: Rolling Stones, Hawthorne Heights, Third Eye Blind
The Rolling Stones are defying the odds. The original bad boys of rock are still touring and making new music 62 years (!) in their career. Their 24th album, Hackney Diamonds, dropped last year. But it’s classics like “Start Me Up,” “Miss You,” “Paint It Black,” “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” we’ll always love. Catch these legends in action during their two-night stint at Soldier Field on Thursday, June 27, and Sunday, June 30. Tickets are available here.
Elder emos, brace yourselves. Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “20 Years of Tears” tour to Chicago this weekend. Billed as a celebration of “the genre that raised an entire generation,” the band will perform their acclaimed debut album, The Silence in Black and White, in full to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Joining them for this outing are I See Stars, Anberlin, Emery, and Armor for Sleep. It all goes down at Salt Shed this Friday, June 28 at 5:30 PM. You can still grab tickets here.
It’s been 27 years since Third Eye Blind asked us to “step back from that ledge” and told us about a “Semi-Charmed Life.” Their debut eponymous album would sell over 6 million units and would be certified platinum six times over. It’s often hailed as one of the best albums of the 1990s. Relive moments from that album along with other classic Third Eye Blind cuts when they bring the “Summer Gods Tour” to Chicago this Friday, June 28, at 6:30 PM with special guest Yellowcard. Grab tickets here.
