Story Of The Year

Taking the roots of R&B and injecting it with a heavy dose of soul, a dash of folk, and a good amount of psychedelia, Black Pumas turned heads when they dropped their debut self-titled album in 2019. It also earned them a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2020. On their latest record, Chronicles of a Diamond, they take everything bigger and better, proving their hype was just a fluke. The duo will bring their electrifying show to The Salt Shed for three nights starting Thursday, January 25, through Saturday, January 27, at 7 PM. Saturday tickets are sold out, but you can get tickets for the other nights here.

It’s been 20 years since Story of the Year released their debut studio album, Page Avenue. It’s still among their most successful, with singles “Until the Day I Die,” “Anthem of Our Dying Day,” and “Sidewalks” charting on the Alternative Songs chart. Upon its release, it was certified gold, then platinum in 2021, showing the album still resonates with fans, new and old. The band will perform the album in full, along with other favorites, at Concord Music Hall this Friday, January 26, at 6 PM. You can still find tickets here.

Indie pop band Lucius became critical darlings with their 2013 album Wildewoman, which harkened back to the days of ‘60s girl groups. The band’s catchy songs and unforgettable harmonies helped them stand out from the deluge of indie bands of that era. Now, the band will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their landmark record with a full album performance. Join the celebration at The Vic Theatre on Saturday, January 27, at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available here.
