Red Hot Chili Peppers

Whether it’s his outrageous outfits or causing controversy, Boy George knows how to get attention. Though he has a prolific solo career, he’s best known as the androgynous singer of Culture Club. In a sea of endless new romantic acts and lots of hairspray, the band stood out not just for their look but for their blend of new wave, pop, dance, and soul. George and Co will bring their eclectic sound to Tinley Park’s Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre on Thursday, August 3 at 7 PM with special guests Howard Jones and Berlin. You can still get tickets here.

It’s finally time! Lollapalooza returns to Chicago’s Grant Park for four days of unforgettable performances. Karol G, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, The 1975, Odesza, Tomorrow X Together, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Lana Del Rey are this year’s headliners. Other acts on the bill include Diplo, Carley Rae Jepsen, Foals, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Sofi Tuckker, Pusha T, Lil Yachty, Maggie Rogers, and more. The festival kicks off Thursday, August 3rd, and runs through Sunday, August 6. If you want to experience one of this summer’s hottest shows, tickets are still available here.

With over six million records sold, Mudvayne is one of the most influential bands in the nu-metal scene. Returning just in time for the nu-metal resurgence, the band is heading out on their first headlining tour in over a decade with special guests Coal Chamber, GWAR, Nonpoint, and Butcher Babies. “The Psychotherapy Sessions” tour comes to the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park this Saturday, August 5, at 5:30 PM. Tickets are available here.

Ex-Soil co-founder and groove metal stalwart Shaun Glass and his band Repentance are performing an album release (The Process Of Human Demise) party at The Vixen in McHenry on August 5. The second single, “Buried by Fear,” indicates listeners will be treated to a thrash groove attack on the new album that listeners have become accustomed to from Repentance.

Indonesian rock trio Voice of Baceprot is breaking boundaries with their heavy sound and unapologetic lyrics dealing with climate change, war, and women’s rights. In support of their debut album, RETAS, the band will perform at Beat Kitchen with Above Snakes Tuesday, August 8th at 8 PM. Grab tickets here.
