Acclaimed New Orleans pianist John “Papa” Gros arrives at City Winery on Monday, March 6. New Orleans Advocate said Gros is a “keyboardist, singer and songwriter who draws on funk, rhythm and blues and Americana song-craft. He also knows his way around the Mardi Gras music repertoire about as well as anyone.”

There is no question that Iggy Pop is an icon. The man is considered one of the forerunners of punk rock. And when it comes to performing, Iggy pushes all boundaries with his shocking antics. Now, you can catch the legend in action when he plays a sold-out show at The Salt Shed on Friday, March 10, at 8 PM.

Florida-based trio Meet Me @ The Altar captured the hearts of the next generation of pop-punk fans with their exciting sound, honest lyrics, and their upbeat energy. Just a day after the release of their highly anticipated debut album Past // Present // Future, the band will swing by Chicago for a sold-out show at Subterranean on Saturday, March 11. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Acclaimed Talking Heads tribute Big Suit comes to the Des Plaines Theatre Saturday, March 11; with a stage show modeled after the Stop Making Sense (captured in the 1984 film), stage show era of the band; charismatic lead singer Jason Krause leads the group on an energetic night of music from the groundbreaking, eclectic New York new wave band.

Punk rockers New Found Glory will show a different side to themselves during their “Make the Most of It” acoustic tour, where they’ll play a number of fan favorites, new music, and deep cuts. The tour swings by Thalia Hall this Saturday, March 11, with special guest Leanna Firestone. Doors open at 7:30 PM. A limited number of tickets will be available on the night of the show.

Chicago native CupcakKe makes rap fun and outrageous with her mix of off-color humor and brash lyrics about sex. After taking a brief hiatus, the rapper returned last year with a new single. Now, she returns to Chicago for a sold-out show at Empty Bottle this Sunday, March 12 at 9 PM. Limited tickets will be available at the door the night of the show. First come, first serve.
