Even if you’re not a regular jazz aficionado, you know who Wynton Marsalis is. The internationally acclaimed composer, bandleader, and trumpeter have earned his share of accolades, achievements, and awards throughout his decades-long career. Now, Marsalis is joining forces with Naseer Shamma for a celebration of Arab music and the tradition of swing at Symphony Hall on Friday, January 27, at 8 PM. Grab tickets here.
Boston-based septet Couch is turning heads with its refreshing sound. Infusing pop sensibilities with rock, jazz, R&B, and funk, their music is vibrant, bubbly, and just an all-around good time. After embarking on their headline tour last year, the band is back for a sold-out show at Lincoln Hall on Friday, January 27. Doors open at 9 PM.
Thrash Metal legends Anthrax make their debut at Radius with the amazing Black Label Society and thrash stalwarts Exodus on Sunday, Jan 29. Metal shows of this magnitude are usually summer tour affairs, so it’s great to see a show with three groundbreaking bands arriving in January.
