Photo Gallery: 101.1 WKQX PIQNIQ at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre

All things considered, not a great day for a Piqniq. But did that stop the dedication of concert goers? Nope! The rain started early in Tinley Park during Piqniq 2019, the annual summer showcase hosted by Chicago’s alt-rock station, 101.1 WKQX. Ten bands were spread out over two stages with an inviting come-early-and-stay-late vibe presiding.

This year’s lineup, once again held at Tinley Park’s Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, boasted headliners The Lumineers, Young The Giant, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Tom Morello and AJR. The smaller, second stage accommodated the early birds and doled out performances from Blue October, The Strumbellas, The Glorious Sons, Shaed and Friday Pilots Club. The end result was a gluttonous menu of live music and revelry, even though it required most articles of clothing to be wrung out before loading into the car for the damp ride home.
