Stage Buzz: Disturbed at Allstate Arena [Updated with Photo Gallery]

There’s nothing better than a hometown show for an acclaimed national band. Local boys and two-time Grammy nominee Disturbed brings its Evolution World Tour to Allstate Arena on Friday (March 8) with special guests Three Days Grace. Area fans who missed their intimate performance last October at the Vic Theatre will get a chance to see the heroes again.

Featuring vocalist David Draiman, bassist John Moyer, guitarist/keyboardist Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren, Disturbed released its debut album The Sickness in 2000, which catapulted the band into superstardom. With its seventh release Evolution, the group has evolved into a powerhouse modern rock unit. The album’s success was fueled by the hit single “Are You Ready,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart and has proven to be the band’s most diverse record to date. Imagine if the band had never posted an ad in Illinois Entertainer in 1996 seeking a singer, Disturbed might never have become the band we know today.

Although they could probably sell out United Center, Disturbed travels to Allstate Arena in Rosemont while the Wolves are away. According to Setlist.fm, Disturbed has been opening the show with the tailor-made new hit single, “Are You Ready,” and playing at least five tunes from Evolution.

If you’ve got cabin fever and need to let off some steam this weekend, Disturbed is just the band to help relieve some of that pent-up stress. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
