Photo Galley: Taylor Swift at Soldier Field

| June 4, 2018

Taylor Swift is dead. Long live Taylor Swift. At least that’s what her most recent album would have you believe. Taking the stage accompanied by Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation,” Swift sent a pretty clear message that even if the haters gonna hate, Taylor 2.0 is completely nonplussed. “The Swifties,” possibly pop music’s most dedicated fan base, were out in force for the first of two nights at the NFL’s smallest football stadium, called Soldier Field.

Fans were greeted by clusters of pyro, steam cannons, lots of fake snakes, and enough lights to power Puerto Rico for the next century (maybe she can rebuild their electrical grid), including a catalog of songs that seemingly everyone in attendance sang at the top of their lungs. Though her sound and look continues to evolve from her country-influenced genesis, it’s evident her fans continue to trust and follow the more mature Taylor. Charli XCX and Camila Cabello (whose meteoric rise is starting to resemble that of the evening’s headliner) helped the large number of early attendee’s find their groove. Curt Baran revisted his inner teenager and caught TS from the photo pit.
