Though he’s currently on a sabbatical from his “other” band, The Black Keys, that doesn’t mean bassist/guitarist Dan Auerbach is simply kicking back and soaking his feet. He recently released his second solo album Waiting On A Song, and almost immediately hit the road to play it live.

His touring bands consists of a whole host of veteran ringers that have played with Elvis, Dusty Springfield and Roy Orbison. He also brought along Louisiana blues man Robert Finley and opening act Shannon and the Clams. The entire musical circus landed at the Riviera Theater in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood. Curt Baran slung his cameras over his shoulders and entered this college of rock and blues knowledge. Check out his shots from the aural baptism.
