Recap/Gallery: Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago 2017 at Union Park – Day 3
At Day 3 of 2017’s Pitchfork Music Festival hit a few speed bumps. Due to an illness in the family, The Avalanches were forced to cancel. Headliner Solange has announced that no photographers will be allowed to document her set, and legendary shoegazer’s Ride had some very uncooperative distortion pedals in their set, yet they fought through with aplomb.
Despite it all, there was plenty of quality music to be had around Lake Street and Ashland Avenue on the festival’s final day. Curt Baran captured performances from Kilo Kish, Colin Stetson, Chicago natives NE-HI, Jamila Woods and Derrick Carter. And in the evenings final leg, sets were offered up by Isaiah Rashad, Joey Purp, Hamilton Leithauser and American Football.
All that was left now was cleaning up the trash in historic Union Park and speculating about the 2018 headliners. Check out the photos while you assemble your wish list.
