Hot Stove, Cool Music featuring Eddie Vedder @ Metro
The Foundation To Be Named Later scored itself a major fundraising coup when Pearl Jam frontman and rabid Chicago Cubs fan Eddie Vedder graciously volunteered to headline this year’s Hot Stove Cool Music benefit. The evening featured performances from Vedder as well as musical support from John Stirratt (Wilco), Daxx Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Jennifer Hall, Matt Spiegel and Curt Morrison (Tributosaurus), Freada Love Smith (Blake Babies, Mysteries Of Life), Brendan Bayliss (Umphrey’s McGee) and Jason Narducy (Split Single, Bob Mould).
The event also included live and silent auctions featuring music and sports paraphernalia and were emceed by WXRT’s Lin Brehmer, actor Joel Murray and actor/comedian Mike O’Malley. Proceeds from the event, which measured in the tens of thousands of dollars by evenings end, benefit Chicago Cubs Charities and FTBNL, both of which are nonprofit organizations that help underserved youth in Chicago.
