Heavy South Siders Delightful Downfall — featuring Mike Kehoe, Joey Hammond, Nick Barelli, Alex Vincent, and Steve Eldridge — finished drum tracking at Chicago Recording Company in Chicago for Wild And Reckless after their recent sold-out show at House Of Blues. Radio programmer Tim Lamping of The Kat FM says “Fast-paced, aggressive hard rock with vocal harmonies are what really sets them apart.” The band formed last March and have been writing and playing shows ever since . . . Also at CRC, Chris Shepard and the team at American Mobile Studio headed down to South By Southwest in Austin to mix some shows at the Rolling Stone Rock Room. Videos can be seen at americanmobilestudio.com. . . . . Engineer Mat Lejeune tracked with Christian McBride and Sting at CRC’s Studio 4 . . . Veteran mixer Steve Weeder finished some tracks with Buddy Guy.

Eight-piece band River City Extension have released the new song “Welcome To Pittsburgh” in conjunction with a tour announcement. The track can be streamed or downloaded at paradm.co/pgh-cos. Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Your Anger was produced by Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron & Wine, Josh Ritter, Secret Machines, Gomez) at Engine Studios in Chicago. The album captures River City Extension’s collision of frontman Joe Michelini’s evocative, intensely personal songwriting and the band’s effusive/explosive performances, building small symphonies around a rock-band core with trumpet, cello, mandolin, and banjo.

Paragon Studios, Inc. in Chicago sent a shout-out to their friend and client Rachel Sarah Thomas (a.k.a. K. Serra) on the release of her new singles, “Somebody To Love,” “Radio Waves,” and “The Queen”. All are now available for viewing on YouTube. The tracks were filmed exclusively at Paragon and all music was produced and mixed in Paragon’s Studio A by K. Serra and recorded by chief engineer Joe Connors. K. Serra is currently on tour throughout the Midwest in support of her new music. Visit her at facebook.com/KSerraMusic.

At BobDog Studios in Oak Park: Treeshakers finished their CD 2.0 . . . The Hurtin Kind began recording their debut album, featuring power-pop and roots-rock songs by singer/rhythm guitarist Matt Rhodes and singer/lead guitarist Hugo Teruel, with owner and engineer, Bill Kavanagh providing bass guitar and Dan Kripke on drums . . . Dav Ero continued work on his upcoming project, titled Hamlet, The Vampyr, with Sandy Lee on vocals, Andon Davis on guitars, Dave Mathis on keys, Clyde “Lightning” George on steel drums, and Michael Panico on drums . . .
