Like tall basketball players and their knees, you have to wonder if — by marrying Gene Simmons — Shannon Tweed got married without paying attention to the law of diminishing returns. Ladies and gentlemen, our countup continues with Kiss!

Crass commercialism, soullessness, and rotting teeth: yes, Halloween and Kiss were made for one another. (One of them is still good fun.) In the mid-’70s, nobody was any wiser, and the band’s outlandish, arena-sized spectacle nevertheless made people feel part of a secret society. Today, after years of mechandising you to death, Kiss at least thought to sell you a coffin.
