A Big Brain Benefit For Diane Izzo

| November 5, 2008

Singer-songwriter Diane Izzo, who was an alt-country/Hideout fixture for a number of years, needs some help. Doctors discovered a brain tumor this year and, echoing the trials of most working musicians, he has little by way of health insurance. In the spirit of community, some of her better-known friends have sprung to her aid.

On November 9th at School Of The Art Institute (112 S. Michigan Ave.), Califone, Waco Brothers with Sally Timms, Robbie Fulks, Vernon Tongues, and Beau O’Reilly & The Crooked Mouth String Band will put on a benefit, asking a $20 donation.

Izzo, who can be heard in Pine Valley Cosmonauts’ Executioner’s Last Songs recordings, has relocated to New Mexico. She’s also attempting to record again to support her struggle. Call (773) 508-0666 for more information
