The Hideout Hosts Its Own South By Southwest

Austin, Texas can be a pretty long haul (IE did the 18-hour trek last year and nearly lost control of the wagon from all the Red Bull) and in March, in time for South By Southwest, plane tickets can get pricey, not to mention lodging once you’re there. So The Hideout figured, why not celebrate here, and give the proceeds to bands heading down?

So on Saturday, March 10th, the Chicago club will host its own SXSW-styled party, Four Star City To The Lone Star State, from noon to midnight for $10. The venue can fill up quick, so there’s no guarantee if or when you’ll get in (one in, one out), but the lineup will include Josh Caterer of Smoking Popes, Judson Claiborne of Low Skies, Velcro Lewis & His 100 Proof Band, Catfish Haven, The Narrator, Office, The M’s, Maritime, Sybris, The New Duncan Imperials, The 1900s, The Prairie Cartel (Local H’s Scott Lucas’ creation), The Race, The Redwalls, Tijuana Hercules, Sally Timms, The Zincs, and more?

Each band will receive food and drinks for their trip, courtesy of Goose Island and Whole Foods. Don’t drink and drive, now.
