At CLEAN CUT RECORDING STUDIO in Palatine, Chicago rock band Chevelle recorded and mixed bonus tracks with engineer Jeff Moll and assistant Tony Doppke.

Fluid Minds finished recording their second album, The [AS] Mixtape, at MELODY SUNRISE STUDIO in Chicago. Four songs from the album have already been featured on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming. The album will be mastered at Colossal Mastering in Chicago and will be released in April or May on the Mother Brain label.

At JEFF FRANKEL RECORDING in Chicago, Ed Tinley, engineer and member of The Ike Reilly Assassination, finished mixing tracks for the band’s forthcoming CD . . . Le Concorde, featuring Stephen Becker, completed recording and mixing tracks for their forthcoming album. A soulful remake of The Zombies’ “She Loves The Way They Love Her” was released February 6th by the Detroit-based label Le Grand Magistery. The track can be found on the iTunes compilation, A Very Magistery Valentine. Joining Becker on the cut were Ellis and Tom Clark of Epicycle.

At GALLERY OF CARPET RECORDING in Villa Park, Chicago rockers BlackTop Mourning cut vocals for their upcoming release being produced by Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz . . . Chicago-based Smallwire was in with engineer/producer Brian Zieske, recording and mixing their debut full-length, due out this spring . . . The Coop recorded and mixed their experimental all-analog full-length, Lost In Thought, with producer Zieske; the album was mastered by Steve Rooke (The Beatles, Wilco, Franz Ferdinand) at Abbey Road in London.

At the I.V. LAB in Chicago, Umphrey’s McGee (Sci-Fidelity) began recording their next album with engineers Manny Sanchez and Kevin Browning . . . The Abstract Giants mixed their next record with Rollin Weary . . . The Uglysuit (Who-Hey?) from Oklahoma City recorded their next album with Sanchez . . . Portland, Oregons’ #Delaney recorded with Sanchez . . . The Sapiens recorded and mixed with engineer Chris Harden.

At LINDER AVENUE RECORDING in Roselle, Bellevue Suite tracked and mixed a new single; Dom Palmisano engineered the sessions.

At ON TRACK STUDIO in Chicago, Broken Belts recorded, mixed, and mastered their debut album, Waiting 2007 . . . 3DB (prevoiusly Radio London) worked on their EP . . . Slinky Styles put the finishing touches on their demo, which will be available soon . . . Blue Fish Fellows completed their second CD.

The David Shankle Group, formed by ex-Manowar lead guitarist David Shankle, worked on a follow-up to 2003’s Ashes To Ashes at FARVIEW RECORDING in St. Charles; the album is slated for a summer release.
