Kentucky Prophet
Bad Dog, Chicago
Sunday, August 20, 2006
Kentucky Prophet, aka Mike Farmer, raps how he isn’t a Crip or a Blood, but “a crippled white man who bleeds sometimes.”
That should tell you pretty much all you need to know about this oversized MC who looks more like an underdog, supporting character in a high school comedy than someone who rocks the mic (you may have seen him on Comedy Central’s “Beat The Geeks”). On the Brain Rap EP he chirps “cuckoo” along with a sultry groove, and does some self-flagellation while working outside during a party in “Valet Parking At The Player’s Ball.” Throughout he keeps the jokes from running dry or overtaking the tracks — this isn’t Afroman or Chunky A. Not yet.
Bad Dog Tavern is located at 4535 N. Lincoln Ave.

One of my heroes. Had the good fortune of featuring him on one of my band’s songs… I think it was his first radio song… back in college. I agree, he just keeps getting better. Love ya, Mike.
I really really really love Kentucky Prophet. Smart, funny guy and amazing person. His voice is the shiz and his rhymes are A-list.
