Death metal’s fuckin’ hard. Sometimes you need to just form a band and let off steam
That’s approximately the theory behind Chrome Division, a side project for Dimmu Borgir’s’ Shagreth and (former member) Nagreth. Aiming to put the “ock” back in “schlock,” Doomsday Rock ‘N Roll is a meaty cock rock disc taking AC/DC and ramming its old-man perversity with Motörhead’s gift for 18-wheeler speed. Frankly, Doomsday Rock ‘N Roll sounds exactly as you’d think five Norwegians trying to play sexy would sound, though “Trouble With The Law” has its moments. Otherwise, for a rock band, Chrome Division are a bunch of hamfisted thugs.
