88 Keys, 100 names
Buddy Guy and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds will be at a special ceremony on August 23rd where they will lend their signatures to a traveling piano.
The Chicago Chapter Of The Recording Academy, the Grammy Foundation, and Hilton Hotels came together on the idea of moving an ink-covered grand piano around the country to build support for music education. Among the 100 signatures on it are Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, and Herbie Hancock with the idea of auctioning it off before the 2007 Grammy Awards show. The public will be able to view the piano at the Hilton Chicago (720 S. Michigan) until August 29th.
At the private ceremony on the 23rd, Guy and Babyface will be onhand to accept a $100,000 check for the Grammy Foundation, as the Hilton agreed to donate $1,000 per artist signature. Students from Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville will give a special performance.
