Hope For Harmony

IE would like to say “get well” to local musician Carole Garcia. The vocalist/keyboardist/harmonica player for the Woodridge-based rock cover band Electric Harmony was recently diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia.

According to an email the band sent, Garcia was admitted to the hospital only three days after Electric Harmony played a gig at Avalanche II in Warrenville March 11th. She began chemotherapy Friday (March 17th), and will remain in the hospital at least four weeks.

“Anyone who knows Carole will know what we mean when we say she hurts much more for the rest of us who were crushed by the bad news than she does herself,” the email reads. “As always, she is in good spirits, and, as sweet as can be, many of us have witnessed her amazing toughness over and over, so we also know that if anyone can beat cancer, it’s our Carole.”

The band encourages anyone who wants to send notes, cards, etc. (no flowers allowed in oncology, though) to use the following address:
