Hell Is For Heroes
Transmit Disrupt
(Burning Heart/Epitaph)

U.K. punks continue struggle to disembark from anthemic Stateside peers, seem to have latched onto At The Drive-In or Trail Of Dead.

Fusing punk and metal has always been a risky proposition, because the core members of each audience don’t particularly mesh well. Carrying punk’s intensity with some of the more liberal guitar ideals (principally metalheadian), Hell Is For Heroes mean well but stop short of exploring any new territory. In fact, Transmit Disrupt bears considerable resemblance to . . . And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead’s Source Tags & Codes with Mike Patton at the mic, if HIFH’s Justin Schlosberg didn’t feel so compelled to be literal in his delivery. “Discos & Casinos” and “Quiet Riot” standout somewhat, but their enemy is one they don’t know very well: themselves.
