For the record
Last month we told you about WLUW 88.7 and their annual on-air fundraising effort. Broadcasting from the Loyola University campus, WLUW is a non-commercial community station that staffs only two full-time employees and more than 200 volunteers.
The on-air fundraiser ended weeks ago, but WLUW gives you another chance to contribute to their operating budget, and your own record collection, with the 4th annual WLUW Record Fair & Other Delights. Taking place at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse (1419 W. Blackhawk) on Saturday April 8th and Sunday April 9th, the fair will provide three rooms of vendors hawking LPs, CDs, 45s, DVDs, posters, and other music-related merchandise.
WLUW will make your time worth it, even if you don’t strike gold in the record bins, by providing live entertainment from Devin Davis, Hanalei, Black Bear Combo, and DJ sets from the Life During Wartime DJs, Pitchfork Media staff, and WLUW on-air personalities. Food will also be available.
The event begins at 10 a.m. each day and ends at 6 p.m. Admission is $7 each day, but a special $20 pre-admission gets eager shoppers in the fair from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday and lets them return to the fair all weekend without additional charge.
