Stage Buzz: Mario, Smashing Pumpkins, Luke Spiller, Paul McCartney
R&B singer Mario is bringing his electrifying stage show to intimate theaters for a rare, up-close-and-personal experience. The singer will serenade fans with hits like “Let Me Love You,” “Just a Friend,” and “Crying Out for Me” during his show at Concord Music Hall this Friday, November 21st. Find tickets here.
Smashing Pumpkins’ Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is one of the most influential albums of the 90s. Taking the bones of grunge and alternative and redefining them for future generations, it remains their magnum opus. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, frontman Billy Corgan is teaming up with the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus to reimagine the album and take it to new heights. Corgan brings a week of “A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness” to Lyric Opera starting Friday, November 21st, through November 30th. Get details here.
Earlier this year, Luke Spiller took a sabbatical from glam rockers The Struts to embark on his own solo career (the band is still intact). The result is his emotionally charged debut album, Love Will Probably Kill Me Before Cigarettes and Wine. Join Spiller for an intimate performance of songs from the record at Garcia’s this Sunday, November 23rd, with special guest Samuel Aaron. Tickets available here.
Paul McCartney is the man behind some of the greatest songs of all time. Whether it’s with The Beatles, Wings, or on his own, he knows how to craft timeless songs that register with multiple generations of fans. Sir Paul will wrap up his extensive “Got Back” tour with a double stint at the United Center on Monday, November 24th, and Tuesday, November 25th. You can still get tickets here.
