Stage Buzz: Oasis, System of a Down, The Black Parade
Oasis shocked everyone when they reunited earlier this year. The Gallagher brothers achieved legendary status thanks to iconic songs like “Wonderwall” and their constant bickering. With their deadpan style, poignant lyrics, and retro-tinged sound, they became the Kings of Britpop – a title they retain to this day. Oasis brings their highly anticipated reunion tour to a sold-out Soldier Field on Thursday, August 28th, with special guests Cage the Elephant.
Calling all members of The Black Parade! The wait is finally over. Emo elder statesmen My Chemical Romance are making their triumphant return to Chicago this weekend. With staples like Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade, the band earned buzzworthy status thanks to their goth-tinged sound and over-the-top theatrics. The band will celebrate their legacy with an unforgettable performance at Soldier Field on Friday, August 29th. Get tickets while they’re still available.
Wake up! System of a Down is coming to Chicago this weekend! With a string of chart-topping singles and successful albums, like Toxicity and Mesmerize, they’re one of the most influential metal bands of the 20th century. Not one to shy away from controversy, the band’s lyrics often revolve around social and political issues, such as war, drug abuse, and the degradation of women. Expect to hear favorites like “Chop Suey!,” “B.Y.O.B.,” and “Aerials” during their two-night stint at Soldier Field on August 31st and September 1st. You can still get tickets here.
