Stage Buzz: Babymetal, Primus, Kesha
Kawaii metal band BABYMETAL has reached iconic status. Starting as a metal idol band, they went from flashy gimmick to earning their place and respect in the metal genre. Known for blending heavy metal with cutesy images and lyrics, they’ve since gained a loyal following thanks to songs like “Gimme Chocolate!!,” “Karate,” “Amore,” and “Megitsune.” To celebrate their new album, METAL FORTH, the group brings its spectacular show to the Aragon Ballroom this Tuesday, July 8, at 6:30 PM. You can still get tickets here.
No one does weird quite like Primus. Their strange visuals, unique vocals, and quirky approach to music helped them rack up hit singles like “My Name Is Mud,” “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” “Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver,” and “Mr. Krinkle.” And anyone growing up in the ‘90s will recognize them for South Park’s theme song. The band will perform their latest and greatest when they hit up The Salt Shed with Ty Seagull on Friday, July 11th at 7 PM. Grab tickets here.
Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, pop star Kesha is ready to kick off the next chapter of her career. After a harrowing lawsuit against Dr. Luke, the singer has reinvented herself on her latest album, Period. To celebrate, the singer is embarking on the “Tits Out Tour” with Scissor Sisters, which stops at Tinley Park’s Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre on Saturday, July 12th at 7 PM. Tickets are available here.
