Stage Buzz: Franz Ferdinand, Ultra Q, The Used
The Used are celebrating their 25th anniversary by performing their first three albums in full. Rounding out their first run of Chicago shows, the band will perform their 2007 album Lies for the Liars at the House of Blues this Wednesday, April 2nd, with Origami Button as support. Doors open at 6 PM. You can still find tickets here.
Franz Ferdinand has been making us shake our butts and banging our heads for the past 23 years. Their fusion of post-punk, indie rock, and dance crafted a catchy and edgy sound that makes you want to dance (their massive 2004 hit βTake Me Outβ just incredibly passed one billion streams on Spotify). Touring in support of their latest album, The Human Fear, Franz Ferdinand will play at The Vic Theatre with Telescreens this Saturday, April 5th, at 8 PM. Grab tickets here.
Ultra Q is an ever-evolving band. The California outfit began as Mt. Eddy, but feeling that the sound and name no longer fit, they rebranded as Ultra Q. Though the music stayed true to their punk rock roots, they pushed the boundaries of their sound with dream pop, post-punk, and drum n bass. Their sophomore album, Empty Eddy, finds them further honing in on their own sound while paying homage to their early days as a band. Ultra Q joins Stateside and Anxious on their sold-out show at Cobra Lounge on Sunday, April 6th. Doors open at 6 PM.
