Sum 41 (Ashley Osborne)

Indie rockers Joywave have always stayed true to themselves. Never one to pigeonhole their sound, they invite listeners to join them on yet another sonic journey for their fifth album, Permanent Pleasure. See what the band has in store this time when they perform with Hunny at Thalia Hall on Tuesday, September 17th. Find tickets here.

It’s almost time to say goodbye to Sum 41. The Canadian punks stole our hearts with punchy songs like “In Too Deep,” “Motivation,” and “Fat Lip.” After 27 years and eight albums, the band is ready to call it quits. But before they do, they’ll perform at this weekend’s Riot Fest and play a sold-out late-night show with Drug Church and Many Eyes at Concord Music Hall on Wednesday, September 18th at 6 PM. If you didn’t get a ticket, you can livestream the show via Veeps. Find more info here.

Indie pop songstress Beabadoobee has earned her buzzworthy status with her deeply personal songs and genuine delivery. She will bring her brand of confessional bedroom pop to the Aragon Ballroom on Tuesday, September 17th, at 6:30 PM. Hovvdy and Keni Titus will join her. You can still grab tickets here.

Local Progressive Rock stalwarts Prognosis (led by guitarist/vocalist Steven Kikoen) bring their all-star band to Arcada Theatre in St. Charles on Thursday night, September 19. If you’re a fan of Genesis, Emerson Lake, and Palmer, Yes, these guys are right up your alley. They also throw in a few curveballs from the pop-end of prog-influenced artists (Tears For Fears, 10CC, Supertramp) to make it extra interesting.  A discount code of DEACON25  (online only) saves you 25% off your ticket at Oshows.com

Riot Fest weekend is finally here! The punk rock festival returns (after some drama with the Chicago Park District) to beautiful Douglass Park from Friday, September 19th, through Sunday, September 21st. This year’s lineup includes Rob Zombie, Beck, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, Sum 41, Fall Out Boy, Slayer, The Offspring, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Lamb of God, Spoon, St. Vincent, and more. Get all the details and find tickets here.
