| September 24, 2024

Chip Z’Nuff and Enuff Z’Nuff appear Thursday at WC Social Club and Friday at Hobart Art Theatre.

Heart was (and is) a rock staple on classic rock radio in the 70s and 80s, and it remains so 40+ years later. Hit singles “Barracuda,” Magic Man,” and “Crazy On You” were groundbreaking, featuring Seattle’s Wilson sisters (Ann and Nancy) and their bandmates. While the original band has gone their separate ways, Founding Heart bassist Steve Fossen and original Heart drummer Michael DeRosier are touring as Heart by Heart. Along with vocalist Somar Macek, guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Lizzy Daymont, and guitarist Chad Quist, the band performs classic material from albums Dreamboat Annie, Magazine, Little Queen, Dog & Butterfly, Bebe Le Strange, and Private Audition
Heart by Heart appear at September 27 in Batavia at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre.

Chicago glam-pop rockers Enuff Z’Nuff’s fan base has been incredibly loyal since its 1984 formation. Fast forward to 2024, and the band’s legacy is well intact on recent albums Hardrock Nite and Finer Than Sin. Much of Enuff Z’Nuff’s fan base has gleefully accepted the current Chip Z’Nuff-led version of the band for over a decade. They’re touring with perfect touring partners Pretty Boy Floyd at WC Social Club on Thursday, September 26, in West Chicago, and Friday, September 27, at the Hobart Art Theatre. Tickets are still available.

This weekend, celebrate Chicago’s goth/industrial/dark wave roots with Cold Waves. This year’s headliners are Drab Majesty A-Split-Second and Clan of Xymox. The lineup also features Pig, Houses of Heaven, Korine, Urban Heart, Spike Hellis, The Cassandra Complex, and more. The festival kicks off Friday, September 27th, and runs through Sunday, September 29th. You can still find tickets here.

Nu-metal pioneers Korn have been going strong for the past 30 years. With their funky fusion of metal, hard rock, and hip hop along with frontman Jonathan Davis’ unique vocals, the band blew up with their third album, Follow the Leader, and have gone on to sell over 40 million records worldwide. Now, they’re one of the most recognizable rock bands. Hear Korn’s latest and greatest during their show at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park this Saturday, September 28, at 6:30 PM. Tickets are available here.

Longtime independent music retailer in the Western Suburbs, Tobias Music, has a performance stage adjacent to their retail shop, and its great “living room show” vibe makes for an amazing, intimate venue. This Saturday, September 28, they’ll host acclaimed acoustic blues guitarist Catfish Keith back for his semi-annual visit to Downers Grove. He’ll perform his classic songs and songs from his recent album, Blues at Midnight. For tickets, call 630-960-2455.

It may be officially fall in the city, but when Charli XCX comes to town, it’s always a brat summer. Charli XCX brings the “Sweat” tour featuring Troye Sivan and Shygirl to the United Center on Monday, September 30, at 7:30 PM. Make sure you get tickets so you don’t miss out.
