The Struts appear Saturday, August 17 at The Riv

Southern California metalheads Haunt roll into the Cobra Lounge this Thursday (August 15) to support their latest release, Dreamers. Co-headlining “Thee Eternal Reign” tour is Louisville, Kentucky’s Savage Master, who bring their special sword and sorcery metal with them. Highland, Indiana’s Idol Throne, will be opening the metal shindig, who just recently dropped their new album, A Clarion Call. Cobra Lounge

Formerly the Lotus Kings, Chicago’s Midwest Santana tribute, Supernatural, comes to the Des Plaines Theatre on Thursday, August 15. Performing a classic catalog of Carlos Santana’s tunes (“Black Magic Woman, “She’s Not There,” “Oye Como Va”) to deeper cuts (“Smooth,” “Maria Maria,” and “The Game of Love”), the band is debuting a stunning version (from Santana’s most recent album) of “Whiter Shade of Pale” for this show. Supernatural is powered by Steve Kikoen’s Grammy-winning band (including Paul Wertico on drums), including their secret weapon, amazing vocalist Cecy Santana (-David Gedge)

English glam-rockers The Struts are perhaps the hardest touring band on the road today. Led by the flamboyant Luke Spiller (a yolking of Jagger, Tyler, and Bolan), these Derby, England transplants are touring in support of their fourth album, Pretty Vicious. After a decade together, few bands match the throwback 70s pub rock energy The Struts bring to the stage. Arriving Saturday, August 17 at The Riviera Theatre. (-David Gedge)
