Stage Buzz: KITTIE, Pink, Missy Elliot
Missy Elliott is one of the most influential rappers of all time. Known as “The First Lady of Hip Hop,” she changed the game with her experimental videos, eclectic style, and poignant lyrics that cover everything from body positivity to sex positivity. In 2023, she became the first female rapper nominated and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And yet, somehow, she is only now embarking on her first headline tour. See this hip-hop legend in action with Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont on Thursday, August 22nd, and Friday, August 23rd. You can still find tickets here.
Canadian metal band KITTIE made a triumphant return this year with Fire, their first album in 13 years. Following their 2011 album, I’ve Failed You, the future looked grim with rising tour costs, a lack of funds, and the death of bassist Trish Doan in 2017. But just like the Phoenix, the band has risen up from the ashes to conquer the world of metal once again. KITTIE performs at Concord Music Hall this Friday, August 23rd, with VCTMS and Conquer Divide at 6 PM. Tickets are available here.
P!nk is not like other pop stars. For the past 25 years, she’s been the underdog, the badass who wasn’t afraid of speaking her mind, getting dirty, and getting in your face. With an incredible voice and uncompromising style, she’s now pop royalty. See P!nk’s dynamic and unforgettable stage show this Saturday, August 24th, at Soldier Field at 6:30 PM. Get tickets while you still can.
