Stage Buzz: Erick the Architect, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, Chance The Rapper
After releasing a string of successful mixtapes and EPs, Erick the Architect, best known for his work in hip-hop group Flatbush Zombies, finally released his debut solo album, I’ve Not Been Here Before, earlier this year. Expect to hear a mix of the rapper’s latest and greatest when he performs at Reggie’s Rock Club on Friday, April 12th, at 8 PM. Grab tickets here.
Punk rock supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmes aren’t your typical cover band. Featuring Spike Slawson, Fat Mike, Joey Cape, and Dave Raun the band specializes in punk rock interpretations of a wide variety of songs, everything from Bob Dylan to Dolly Parton. The band will bring their off-beat humor and a slew of hits to the House Of Blues this Friday, April 12th, at 7 PM. Tickets are available here.
Chicago’s own Chance the Rapper has been hard at work on his new album, Star Line Gallery, which should be arriving later this year. In the meantime, the rapper invites fans to celebrate his birthday with him and help Chicago youth during his benefit concert at the Ramova Theatre this Saturday, April 13th, at 6 PM. 100% of proceeds will benefit Socialworks.
