Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVH treated fans to an intimate sold-out show at The Forge in Joliet on Saturday. After a stunning show at The Vic Theatre last Fall – WVH’s return to the Chicago area shows the power of his draw and his live show. Touring again in support of his sophomore album Mammoth II, their set list highlights included powerful opener “I’m Alright, debut album rocker “Mammoth,” and set closer “Don’t Back Down.” Comparisons to his famous father and his band are inevitable, but Wolfgang continues to carve out his own sound and space. Opening guitarist Nita Strauss provided an ideal set to prime the crowd.
