Stage Buzz: Poison The Well, Ganser, Issues
Metalcore stalwarts Poison The Well had no idea the impact their third album and sole major label release You Come Before You would have on the second wave of metalcore. Building off the melodic style of their first two records, the album saw them pushing their boundaries, experimenting with new sounds and style blurring the lines between artrock and metal. Now, the band will celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary by performing it in full at the Metro on Friday, January 12 at 7:30 PM. Sold out.
It’s nearly the end of the road for alt-metalcore band Issues. After 12 years together and four albums, the band officially called it quits last year and are now playing their last ever shows. Before saying goodbye, the band will deliver one more raucous show in Chicago at Concord Music Hall with Oceano and Nightlife. It all goes down Saturday, January 13th at 6 PM. This may be your last chance to see these guys, so grab you tickets here.
Chicago post-punk four-piece Ganser quickly earned critical and fan approval with their 2020 sophomore album Just Look at That Sky. Soon, they became the year’s most buzz worthy band. This praise continued with their stellar 2022 EP Nothing You Do Matters. Now, fans are eager and impatient to hear what the band has up their sleeve. Hopefully, they’ll offer a few new samples at their Empty Bottle show this Saturday, January 13th at 9 PM. Tickets available here.
