Stage Buzz: Enuff Z’Nuff with Firehouse at The Arcada Theatre • St. Charles
Enuff Z’Nuff with Firehouse
Arcada Theatre
Saturday, February 5
St. Charles, IL
There’s nothing like a hometown show… and a two-for-one to boot.
Chicago’s power-pop rockers Enuff Z’Nuff will be playing back-to-back nights at LiveWire Lounge in Chicago on Friday, Feb. 4, and the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles the following night (February 5) with fellow ’80s glam rockers Firehouse.
Enuff Z’Nuff co-founder/vocalist/bassist Chip Z’Nuff couldn’t be happier about playing on his home turf. “The hometown gigs are my favorite shows because you have a chance to see not only your constituents, but all the greatest fans in North America,” Chip told IE during a recent phone interview. “People hail rock and roll and heavy metal here in Chicago. That venue in St. Charles is incendiary. Wonderful people show up there and all they want to hear is hard rock and metal and get away from all the rigmarole that’s happening in the world. And that’s a real celebration of life when you have a couple of national acts playing; Firehouse and us. It’s going to be a great show.”
A potpourri of classic Enuff Z’Nuff songs from the last 30 years will make up the setlist, including familiar hits “Fly High Michelle,” “New Thing” and “Baby Loves You,” as well as a few Beatles tunes from their latest covers album Hardrock Nite. The show will be a celebration of Chip’s past and present.
Chip has been churning out records with prolific ease for the past two years, and his loyal fan base has been gleefully embracing them. With the release of Enuff Z’Nuff’s 2020 album Brainwashed Generation, the Beatles covers album, his new solo album Perfectly Imperfect (released March 18), to the soon-to-be-released yet-untitled Enuff Z’Nuff record, you certainly can’t call Chip lazy. “I go out there and I continue to work and move the needle forward every single day,” he explained. “I’m grateful that I get a chance to work and make records still. The fans have spoken, they want to hear new songs… and I have them.”
