Evan Dando brought the ’90s back to Thalia Hall to begin the weekend. Still using his three-decades old Lemonheads moniker, Dando is out supporting his 2019 covers album Varshons 2.

He delivered a taut, career spanning set that included instant ear worms like “It’s About Time,” “The Great Big No,” “Drug Buddy” and the title track from It’s A Shame About Ray. And in keeping with the evening’s retro theme, he’s invited former Replacements (and Guns N’ Roses) bassist Tommy Stinson along for the ride. Stinson also delivered an overview of songs from his solo works as well as his various side projects. The only thing the evening was missing was a Winona Ryder cameo.
