Even by today’s rock n’ roll standards, MGMT’s recorded output has been surprisingly glacial. A valued four records since their inception in 2002, which includes their recently unveiled Little Dark Age. There will be no new music “before its time.”
The tour of the same name brought them to the Riviera Theater in Chicago’s historic Uptown neighborhood. Apparently their audience is not only patient, but also forgiving, as the band managed two sold-out shows for the faithful in the Windy City.
Curt Baran slowly emerged from hibernation to catch the band in action. Here’s what he captured on night one after stripping away his cobwebbed eyelids.
