Reacap/Gallery: Flogging Molly at Limelight Metroplex
Flogging Molly, the Detroit based seven-piece, played an electric two-hour set at the Limelight Eventplex in Peoria, Saturday. It was the band’s first visit to Whiskeytown in support of their latest studio album, Life Is Good. Their mix of traditional Irish music and punk rock hit the mark with a crowd spanning three generations.
Supporting were folk punk artist Jon Snodgrass, and Radkey, a punk trio from Saint Joseph, Missouri. Both performances drew cheers from the audience and set the tone well for the main event.

As expected, Flogging Molly delivered a high-energy show, commencing with hits such as “Swagger” and “Drunken Lullabies,” and continued the charge throughout the evening, leaving the audience cheering for more. Dave King and company offered up a mix of old favorites and new songs, with King dedicating many songs to his recently deceased mother. He also broke up the set with witty banter, much to the enjoyment of the audience and amusement of his band mates.
